Wētā Workshop Unleashed - Contest Rules

These are the rules for participation in Wētā Workshop Unleashed’s Instagram Giveaway Competition contest (referred to below as the “Contest”).  These Rules make a contract between you (the person signing up for the Contest), and us (Wētā Workshop Limited, incorporated in New Zealand, the promoter of the Contest).

When you sign up for the Contest, you must use your real name.  You promise us that all information you provide when you sign up is complete and accurate.

You must be a legal resident living permanently in New Zealand to participate in the Contest.  Failure to comply with these Rules may disqualify you from the Contest and/or collecting any prizes.

Prizes

The prizes are as follows:

• Family pass to a Wētā Workshop Unleashed tour (“Tour”), which covers 2 Adult ticket fares and 2 Child ticket fares. Valued at $149.00. Child fares are for children aged 5 years old – 14 years old [Children below 5 years old do not require a ticket].

How to enter

Participants enter the Contest by following the Wētā Workshop Unleashed Meta page, liking our Contest post, and tagging other pages in the comment section of our Contest post.

Entries open at midnight at the start of 25.09.2023 and close at midnight at the end of 01.10.2023 (New Zealand time).

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must meet all the following criteria:

• you are a legal resident of New Zealand and are living permanently in New Zealand.
• you must be at least 15 years old. If you are under 15, your parent or legal guardian must provide their consent, agree to these Rules, and ensure you comply with these Rules.

Employees and contractors of Wētā Workshop and their immediate families are not eligible for the Contest.

Prize draw

The prize winner will be randomly drawn on 2.10.2023

We will use reasonable efforts to contact the winners by social media page.  If by 06.10.2023 a winner has not claimed their prize the prize will be forfeited, and we may conduct a re-draw to award the prize to another eligible entrant.

Winner notification: The winner will be contacted by private message on the Wētā Workshop Unleashed Instagram page. If the winner is not contactable and/or does not reply to claim the prize for 48 hours after being notified of winning, then Wētā Workshop can allocate the prize to another participant at its sole discretion.

No correspondence: Wētā Workshop’s decision regarding the Winner is final and no correspondence will be entered.

Prize rules

The prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. We may substitute any of the prizes for alternative items of greater or equal value.

If the winner is under 15 years old, a parent or guardian must accompany him/her when accepting and/or using the prize.

The prize must be used before 31.10.2024 and the winner will be fully responsible for arranging travel to Unleashed and for all costs associated with travel.

Except as specified in these Rules, each winner is responsible for all costs that he or she might need to incur in order to accept or use any prize, or as a result of accepting or using any prize (including, for example, taxes, insurance, travel, accommodation, and/or other incidental expenses).

No Liability: Wētā Workshop and its associated agencies and companies shall not be liable in any way (including, without limitation, in negligence) for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss) or for any loss or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with promotion. Wētā Workshop is not liable for any tax implications that may arise as a result of winning.

General terms and conditions

Disqualification

We may disqualify you from participating in the Contest and/or collecting any prize if there are reasonable grounds to believe that you have violated any of these Rules or acted in a fraudulent or deceptive manner. 

Publicity

By accepting the prize, each winner agrees that we may use his / her name and photo for publicity, promotional and media purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to them.

Privacy

We will collect and use the information that you provide us when you sign up for the Contest, for the purposes of operating the Contest, and managing our relationship with you in connection with the Contest.  We may also use this information for internal market research and providing you with information about our products and services, although you can opt-out of receiving marketing messages at any time. We may also provide your information to our service providers for these purposes.  If you do not provide us with the information required by the Contest you may not be able to participate in the Contest. 

We may also use web analytics tools (including ‘cookies’) to track your usage of any apps or websites through which you participate in the Contest (including your mouse click activity and your IP address). 

You have a right to request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you. 

Exclusion of liability

As far as allowed by law, Wētā Workshop will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any kind as a result of or in connection with the prize draw, the prizes or these terms, and in particular, any loss, damage or injury that the winner (or his or her guest, if applicable) might suffer in receiving or using any prize.

You acknowledge that the Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook and Instagram and that Facebook and Instagram do not have any liability to you in relation to the Contest. You agree to fully release Facebook from any and all liability in relation to your participation in the Contest and use of any app or website through which you participate in the Contest

You agree to fully release Facebook from any and all liability concerning your participation in the Contest and use of any app or website through which you participate in the Contest.]

Other terms

These terms will be governed by New Zealand law. Any dispute relating to the Contest, any prize or these terms will be a matter for the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
